Warehouse Operative / 3.5t Van Driver Location: Northampton
Pay Rate: £12.38 per hour (£13.87 inc holiday pay) (temp-to-perm rate to increase in line with National Minimum Wage)
Hours: 10-hour shifts (start time between 5am 7am), including 1 hour unpaid lunch
Contract: Temp-to-perm, full-time

About the Role: RMB Driving is recruiting a Warehouse Operative / Van Driver for one of our clients based in Northampton . This is a varied, hands-on role combining warehouse duties with local deliveries using a 3.5t Luton van .
This is a temp-to-perm opportunity , offering long-term, stable employment for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities:
Warehouse Duties: Loading and unloading goods using Counterbalance and Bendi FLT

Checking deliveries against paperwork and recording accurately

Picking orders efficiently for collection and delivery

Completing daily forklift safety checks

Liaising with procurement regarding delivery discrepancies

Loading vehicles safely and securely for delivery

Maintaining high standards of housekeeping within the warehouse

Assisting with other branch duties as required

Driving Duties: Driving a 3.5t Luton van when required

Completing daily vehicle checks via the Fleetcheck App

Ensuring loads are properly secured and safe for transport

Delivering goods using the MaxOptra route planning app

Keeping customers informed of delivery times

Reporting any delivery or site issues back to the branch

Driving in line with road traffic law and company transport policies

Health, Safety & Environment: Working in line with company Health & Safety , Environmental and Quality policies

Reporting accidents, near misses and hazards

Promoting a safe working environment at all times

Requirements: Full UK driving licence (maximum 6 points )

Counterbalance and Bendi FLT licences and experience

Physically fit role involves manual handling

Reliable, trustworthy and safety-conscious

Excellent attention to detail

Comfortable using smartphone apps

Strong communication and customer service skills

Basic numeracy and literacy

Team player with a positive, can-do attitude
