Job Description

Are you passionate about supporting student wellbeing and mental health? Do you thrive in a collaborative, creative environment where no two days are the same?

Rose Bruford College is seeking a compassionate, organised and proactive Student Wellbeing Advisor to join our dynamic Student Life team. In this role, you’ll work directly with students experiencing emotional distress, mental health challenges, or wellbeing concerns - providing confidential support, triage, risk management and referrals to ensure timely and effective care.

You’ll play a key role in promoting early intervention and resilience-building, while collaborating with academic teams, the Students’ Union, external partners and internal services to create an inclusive, supportive environment for all our students.

What you’ll do:

  • Offer individual, student-centred wellbeing support through triage, casework and referrals.
  • Manage the counselling triage system and conduct initial wellbeing assessments.
  • Work closely with the counselling team, disability team, safeguarding leads and academics to manage complex student cases.
  • Coordinate student engagement with internal and external support services, including GPs, mental health professionals and pastoral staff.
  • Contribute to awareness campaigns, induction activities and proactive wellbeing initiatives.
  • Maintain clear and confidential records and prepare data for internal reporting.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience supporting individuals in a wellbeing, mental health or pastoral care setting.
  • Excellent communication, empathy and case management skills.
  • A strong understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality and mental health best practice.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • A genuine commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to the student experience at one of the UK’s leading drama and performance colleges. You’ll be joining a supportive and collaborative team working to empower students to thrive both personally and academically.

Benefits include:

  • Access to a generous holiday allowance
  • Staff development and wellbeing support
  • Membership of the College pension scheme
  • A vibrant campus with regular performances and creative events
