A supportive and inclusive alternative education setting in Hull is looking for a compassionate Student Behaviour Mentor to join their team from September 2025. This rewarding role involves guiding students who require extra help with behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social interaction, enabling them to re-engage with learning in a positive way.
What the Role Involves:
* Delivering tailored 1:1 and small-group interventions for pupils with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs * Working collaboratively with teachers, the SEND team, and pastoral staff to put individual support plans into action * Encouraging resilience, self-esteem, and healthy peer relationships * Supporting de-escalation and creating a calm, structured environment * Tracking progress and providing input to personalised behaviour strategies
What We're Looking For:
* Experience supporting young people with behavioural, emotional, or SEMH needs in schools, youth work, or similar environments * Strong empathy, patience, and the ability to build trust with young learners * Confidence in using restorative and positive behaviour approaches * A calm, solution-focused mindset with flexibility to adapt to different situations * A genuine passion for inclusion and student wellbeing
