Overview Of The Post
The University of Manchester has a vacancy for a Research Assistant or Research Associate (qualitative) to play a vital role on a prestigious NIHR Three Schools Prevention Research Programme funded study entitled “Co-Developing a Care Pathway Between Community Pharmacies and General Practices in the Deep End to Prevent Long Term Illnesses”. The Primary objective of this study is to develop a new care pathway between community pharmacists and the GP in areas of deprivation with healthcare professionals and patients, to prevent long-term illnesses.
We are seeking an innovative, motivated and capable individual, who can apply their research skills to support the delivery of this project. Skills in qualitative research methods and analysis are essential, as are the personal qualities of resilience, accuracy and flexibility. Experience of undertaking qualitative research/interviews with healthcare professionals and patients will be a distinct advantage.
You will be working with Drs Penny Lewis and Rebecca Morris and the rest of the research team, which consists of partnerships across three areas including North East and North Cumbria, Sheffield and Manchester. This consists of a mix of practitioners in primary care, public health and pharmacy, clinical researchers, a public member and a research manager.
The post holder will be based at the University of Manchester, but will be collecting data across the North West so independent means of travel is essential. The post is subject to an Enhanced DBS.
This position is available as a Research Assistant OR Research Associate role, depending on skills and experience.
