Job Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to work in psychiatry and develop your skills in a supportive, high-quality and well-led mental health service. We are looking for a CT LAS doctor to join our dynamic team of junior doctors across the service. We have a post in the area of adult psychiatric inpatient ward.
The LAS CT1-2 will be responsible for patient management under the supervision of the Consultant. They will be offered to take part in the City and Hackney on-call rota. We would support involvement in local academic programme and training opportunities.
Main duties of the job
The LAS CT1-2 will be expected to see new patients, provide regular review of mental state for patients under the care of the team, take part in MDT meetings, and more. The post-holder will become skilled at clerking in acutely unwell patients, attending to their physical as well as mental health issues, and developing treatment plans in liaison with senior psychiatric staff in the team.

Education, training and qualifications
- Medical qualification
- Full GMC Registration
Previous Experience
- Completion of pre-registration medical posts (Foundation Training)
Desirable criteria
- Previous psychiatry experience
Skills And Abilities
- Psychiatric consultation skills
- Good time management
- Good standards of documentation
- Ability to appropriately seek advice
Knowledge
- Knowledge of basic psychiatry
- Knowledge of basic psychopharmacology
Desirable criteria
- Knowledge of de-escalation techniques and rapid tranquilisation
