The role
Reporting to the UK Recruitment Manager, the UK Student Recruitment Officer is a full-time, permanent position operating under a Hybrid model (Headington Campus / hybrid). You will be responsible for promoting and delivering an innovative programme of recruitment activity within a specific region to attract and convert a diverse pool of undergraduate and postgraduate taught applicants. Key duties include developing external relationships with schools, colleges, and other agencies, and leading on-campus recruitment events like Open and Applicant Days. A willingness to travel widely and work flexibly is essential.
 
About the team
The UK Recruitment team is part of the Directorate of Marketing, Recruitment and Engagement, an ambitious team dedicated to ensuring every contact counts and contributing to the University’s objectives. The team develops and delivers high-quality recruitment events and activities to attract a diverse pool of applicants. Our work ranges from extensive school and college engagement to large-scale on-campus and virtual events. The team works closely with colleagues in Access & Outreach, Admissions, and Strategic Marketing to develop new solutions for prospective students, supporting the University's aim to increase its global footprint and broaden access to an Oxford Brookes education.
 
What will I be doing?
●       Promote and deliver an innovative programme of recruitment activity within a designated region.
●       Develop and maintain relationships with key staff in a portfolio of schools, colleges, and other relevant agencies.
●       Coordinate and deliver a range of on-campus activities, including managing a campus/site during Open and Applicant Days.
●       Coordinate off-campus events (e.g., commercial careers fairs) by securing bookings, organising logistics (freight, transport, hotels), and arranging staff/student cover.
●       Provide prospective students with accurate, up-to-date advice and support through presentations and workshops.
●       Develop and implement a regional recruitment plan based on market knowledge and target school needs.
●       Analyse the impact of recruitment interventions, producing reports, recommendations, and budget updates.
●       Handle, configure, manage, and utilise relevant data within designated databases, such as the CRM.
 
What skills do I need?
●       A Degree or equivalent qualification.
●       Must hold a valid driving licence.
●       Demonstrable experience of working in a sales environment or education is an advantage.
●       The ability and willingness to travel widely and work flexibly, including evenings and weekends (such as the 9 Saturdays per year for Open and Applicant Days).
●       Excellent ability to develop and maintain both internal and external relationships.
●       The capacity to maintain an up-to-date knowledge of the University's course portfolio and accurately represent it.
●       Experience in operational management of a defined budget.
●       Proven ability to handle, manage, and utilise data within designated databases (e.g., CRM).
 
About the location
This role is based on a Hybrid working model, with the primary base being the Headington Campus. You will also be required to travel widely across the UK for recruitment events. While the role offers flexibility, you must be prepared to work weekends and evenings for university business, including attending the 9 required Saturday Open and Applicant Days per year.
