Job Description:
Do you have a passion for delivering an exceptional level of customer service? If so, then we have fantastic opportunities available working as customer service professionals for a UK leading educational provider, The Open University.
On behalf of The Open University, we are actively recruiting for positions within the frontline Student Recruitment and Support teams in a contact centre environment. You will ensure an excellent level of service is provided to prospective and current students by providing key information and helping them make decisions about their learning.
Working hours: Full time (37 hours per week, between 8.00am – 6.30pm Mon to Fri)
Pay rate: £12.62ph
Working pattern: Hybrid working after training. Once initial training is complete, candidates will work from the office a minimum of 2 days per month.
Location: Milton Keynes, MK7 6AA
Training: A 7-week comprehensive training program will be provided.
Start Date: 2 groups starting on 2nd & 30th June
Duration: Until 30th September 2025
About the role
The role involves inbound call handling, supporting students through their study journey via calls, emails, letters, web-chat, and other communication channels. You will work with multiple systems and databases to maintain student and enquirer details, acting as a first point of contact to ensure accurate information and excellent service.
Training and ongoing support will be provided to build confidence and knowledge in the role.
Key responsibilities
- Provide information to enquirers and students regarding registration, funding, and general enquiries via calls and emails.
- Proactively transfer calls to specialized teams when needed.
- Navigate and respond to issues, applying policies and procedures appropriately.
Additional tasks
- Complete administrative tasks promptly.
- Update student records using university systems.
- Work as part of a team to meet service standards.
- Strive to exceed service expectations and deliver positive experiences.
