HGV Class 2 Driver

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Class 2 Driver to join our well-established client based in Hartcliffe.

This is a fantastic opportunity offering great rates of pay and room to grow and progress.

To be considered for this role you MUST have a minimum of 24 months of continuous commercial driving experience.

Shifts:

Working five days between Monday - Sunday (rota provided): start times from 06:00

Rates of Pay (PAYE):

• Basic: £15.00 per hour
• Overtime: Monday - Friday: £22.50 per hour
• Saturday: £22.50 per hour
• Sunday: £30.00 per hour
• Bank Holiday: £30.00 per hour

Day to Day Duties:

Your duties as a HGV Class 2 Driver will involve but not be limited to:

• Delivering most building materials and home interior improvements products (not bathrooms and kitchens)
• Operate and drive various Category C vehicles in a safe and efficient manner to and from delivery locations
• Two-person team deliveries to residential addresses
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
• Ensure all cargo is loaded and secured properly
• Adhere to traffic laws and regulations
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers
• Report any vehicle defects or maintenance needs to management
• Heavy lifting involved

Essential Skills:

As a HGV Class 2 Driver you must:

• Be able to work as a team
• Have a minimum of 24 months continuous experience driving Category C vehicles
• No more than six penalty points for minor infringements and no major endorsement codes
• Must be able to use PDA (personal digital assistant)
• Hold a valid UK Category C Licence
• Hold a valid UK CPC Card and UK Digi Card
• Must be able to speak and read a good level of English
• Punctuality and excellent time keeping skills
• Have a good understanding of traffic laws and regulations
• Effective communication skills
• Must be reasonably physically fit as heavy lifting is involved

Desirable Experience:

• Experience driving any commercial vehicles
• Previous experience with multi drop deliveries

Training

• Six-hour online training must be completed before attending assessment
• Driver's Assessment will have to be completed
• After successful Assessment, there will be on-the-job training
