About the Role
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-onCountry Manager to lead MyEducation (UK) into its next phase of growth. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about international education, with proven leadership in student exchange, youth travel, or educational operations.
You will take full ownership of the organisation’s strategic direction, programme delivery, team management, and stakeholder engagement. You'll be a visible and trusted leader who ensures MyEducation’s continued success, growth, and impact.
MyEducation has an office in Edinburgh, but we are considering applicants from any part of the UK as the role can be conducted remotely.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development and execution of MyEducation’s UK strategy, annual goals, and operational plans.
- Oversee P&L for UK
operations, including program pricing, cost control, and financial performance.
- Provide coaching, performance monitoring, and professional development to staff members.
- Oversee the delivery of inbound and outbound student exchange and travel programmes.
- Manage relationships with UK host schools, international partners, and WEP offices.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding laws, visas, GDPR, and host family protocols.
- Grow enrolments and expand programme offerings to new destinations.
- Lead a small internal team and national coordinator network.
- Oversee marketing, recruitment, budget management, sales, and performance tracking.
- Represent MyEducation at events, conferences, and fairs.
- Collaborate with Headquarters to implement and optimise WEP IT tools (ERP, CRM, and other digital platforms), ensuring smooth adoption and local integration.
- Contribute to the development of marketing materials and digital marketing strategies in coordination with HQ, adapting global campaigns to the British market.
- Report international management results and KPI and suggest developments for future growth.
About You
We are looking for someone with strong analytical skills, an entrepreneurial spirit, a “nothing is impossible” attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, the ability to work for My Education UK as if it were their own company, and the capacity to work independently and navigate ambiguity in a fast-moving, multicultural environment.
Required experience and knowledge:
- 5+ years in a leadership or senior operations role within international education, exchange, or youth travel.
- Strong understanding of UK safeguarding laws and visa processes.
- Proven success managing programmes, people, and budgets.
- Confident communicator with cross-cultural fluency.
- UK-based with the right to work, and able to travel within the UK and internationally.
- Experience living or working abroad.
- Experience with student recruitment, marketing, or agency relationships.
- Native in English (or C2 level) and speaking a second European language is a plus.
