1:1 Teaching Assistant – Supporting a Student with Complex Needs
Start Date: September 2025 Hours: 8:30am–12:30pm, Monday to Friday Rate: £25–£27 per hour (depending on experience)
About the Role
Classroom Teachers Ltd are seeking a compassionate and dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with profound and multiple complex needs in a school setting. This is a part-time role of 4 hours per day, 5 days a week.
The student is 14 years old and has cerebral palsy, is non-verbal, and has limited movement. Further details will be shared with shortlisted candidates. The successful candidate will play a vital role in enabling the student to access learning, communicate their needs, and engage with peers throughout the school day.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide 1:1 support to help the student access learning and communicate effectively.
* Ensure the student is positioned comfortably and safely to maximise classroom engagement.
* Facilitate social interaction and play during break times.
* Support the student on school trips and external activities.
* Work closely with school staff and the therapy team, including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, and Speech & Language Therapists.
* Use the Eye Gaze device and other communication tools consistently throughout sessions.
